ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE

Stores a single opaque value under the secret's name.

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE is the fourth entry in the Secret Type dropdown and it's the default selection on the create form at every scope: User, Workspace and Tenant. We treat the stored value as an uninterpreted string, which makes this the appropriate choice for anything that doesn't correspond to a recognised credential structure, whether that's an API key for a third-party service, a licence string, or a connection parameter your job reads at runtime.

Because the value is opaque to us, there's nothing to authenticate against.
